What's your favorite music for working in the garage? The creamy bluesy-ness of the Black Keys song Thickfreakness is perfect for working on an engine.

The Flame is on my top 10. Reminds me of old SRV.

When I used to live down near Portsmouth, NH, there was a great station called WXEX that played all 60s, 70s and 80s stuff. Miss having a garage here in Manchester, but any time I go to my buddy's house to do car work, it's on!

My dad prefers 80s metal for his Mustangs and bikes, while I go for country when working on my XJ or FZ6.

...I should apologize to his neighbors.

All of Magic Potion is great. I could play that album on loop forever.

My area sucks, there are 4 country, 3 top-40s, 2 90s-00s pop, 1 60s, 1 classic rock, and 1 classical stations. I live in a college town and there is no alternative channels and the classic rock station seems to play the same list of songs over and over. I now use spotify whenever I'm in the garage so I can actually listen to some B-sides and not over popular stuff.

Attack & Release and Chulahoma are absolutely great.

Ah Spotify, good call! I can get the powertrain out of a classic Saab 900 Turbo in the entirety of Citizen Steely Dan.

I can rip out my dash in less time than it takes to play through Dark Side of the Moon.

I've been listening to a LOT of Zeppelin recently while working on my Bug. I spent literally my whole weekend in the garage and had Zeppelin on Spotify the entire time.

Screw it, ALL of their stuff is great. Except Brothers... I don't really like Brothers.

I like brothers... except for the singles off the album. They were too overplayed and now I can't stand to hear Tighten Up.

I don't mind it. But I'll play the old stuff first. Have heard Wolfmother?

Wow, I had no idea.

There's this one man band called The Rocket Summer I saw open for Switchfoot. The guy tours with people to fill in the set, but he sent them off in the middle of the show and just created a freaking song from scratch. Right there. Drums, bass, guitar, vocals. By himself, with a looping machine. Not really my style of music, but I was blown away by the amount of talent it takes to do that.
